After a rather long flight where sleep was difficult, even in an emergency exit seat with extended leg room, I arrived safely in this beautiful city. Many of the students participating in the CFCCS Summer Class met for touring & fun last night, but I had to pass for some much needed sleep.
Once I hit the bed at Hotel Kasina, I woke once when I recognized the music at 2:00 a.m. Coming from the club -right below my room- and briefly considered getting up to dance by my bed but quickly dismissed that desire after a run to the loo and a swallow of G2! Getting old is hell, I’ll leave that for those young people.
I finally pulled myself out of bed at 7:30 and made it down to this swanky bar in the hotel lobby. Quickly made friends with a Serbian waitress who doesn’t speak a lick of English, but we’re teaching each other our respective languages and having fun doing so. Breakfast was delicious: best bread I’ve ever tasted, eggs with plenty of cheese and some sort of meat? Coke (thank you Jesus!) and tons of water to replenish.
Off to explore then catch up on my reading!
